2019 Gladiator Best Defensive Forward Award For Hockey East
The Gladiator Custom Mouthguards Best Defensive Forward Award is selected by the league’s 11 head coaches in advance of the Hockey East Championship.
This year’s winner is Maine junior Chase Pearson from Alpharetta, GA. The Maine captain also earned second team all-star honors in Hockey East this season, finishing second on the Black Bears in points with 29. Leading the way posting a plus/minus of +21, 14 blocked shots and faceoff percentage of 53.8%, Pearson proved to be vital to Maine’s defensive efforts throughout the season.
Chase has recently signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings starting in the 2019-20 season and will sign an amateur tryout contract with the Grand Rapid Griffins, joining them for the rest of this season.
Gladiator congratulates Chase Pearson and all of the student-athletes winning awards this year and is proud to be associated with Hockey East and their student-athletes.
Gladiator has been a sponsor of Hockey East since 2009 and annually presents the Best Defensive Forward Award.
