The difference is the method by which the guard is crafted and fit for the mouth. A boil-and-bite is a one-size-fits-all guard. This is made from a stock form and molded by biting and sucking on the guard after heating it. Both protection and comfort are compromised by a boil-and-bite mouthguard. A custom mouthguard is made from a direct impression of your mouth for an intimate fit. And made layer by layer in a heat and pressure laminate process specifically for your sport and preferences.

What is the process to get my custom mouthguard?
Once your online order is placed, your Gladiator Self Impression Kit will be shipped. Your kit includes two attempts to take an impression of your upper teeth. You will use the return mailer to return the completed impressions. Once received, your Gladiator is produced in 3-6 business days and shipped to you (Aug-Oct manufacturing time may vary).

Do you make mouthguards for athletes with braces?
Yes! The Pro style is our Gladiator style suited for athletes with braces. This can be built with our Ortho-Channel, a special adaptation just for braces. The Gladiator Pro for braces fits over the brackets and wires without inhibiting orthodontic treatment or alignment.

Do you make custom mouthguards for the lower teeth?

How long will a custom mouthguard fit if an athlete's teeth are still growing?
This will vary for each different athlete, but the stone model will typically last for 2 years when under the age of 14. For youth athletes with mixed dentition (some baby teeth) the guard is designed to accommodate for tooth loss or new tooth growth to get the most out of your Gladiator.
I have a stone model of my teeth from a dentist or a stone model that isn't from Gladiator. Can I send that to you?
Gladiator welcomes orders with any existing stone model. Please email the Customer Service Team customerservice@gladiatorguards.com with images of your existing stone model to find out if your model can be used.
Can you make a custom mouthguard for missing teeth or athletes with no teeth?
Yes. A Gladiator can accommodate missing teeth and a guard can be made for athletes with no teeth at all. Please email the Customer Service Team customerservice@gladiatorguards.com if you are missing 5 or more teeth for the best options for you.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping can be selected on the shopping cart page before completing your order.
Do you offer any military discounts?
Gladiator offers a 20% actively deployed military discount. Mouthguard for military personnel only (must ship to APO/FPO address).
What happens if I make a mistake on the impression while using the Gladiator Self Impression Kit?
Gladiator ships enough material for two attempts at your impression. Should there be any issues with your impression, please email the Customer Service Team customerservice@gladiatorguards.com with images for evaluation.
How long does it take for the custom mouthguard to be made?
Once the completed impressions are received, production time is 3-6 business days (Aug-Oct manufacturing time may vary). Reorder Gladiators are produced in only 2-3 business days once the stone model is received.

If I want to get another mouthguard later on, do you keep the stone model of my teeth?
Your Gladiator stone model is returned to you for safekeeping. Only international stone models are stored at our facility. However, your stone model allows you access to our reorder discounted pricing.

How do I place a reorder?
All reorders are placed online. All discounted pricing is already applied to the reorder products. Once the online reorder is completed, ship Gladiator your stone model via UPS or USPS with a printed copy of your emailed reorder confirmation.
