Philly Waterdog Kieran McArdle’s 2024 Championship Series Gladiator
President’s Day Weekend is upon us, and you know what that means: Lacrosse!
Premier League Lacrosse (PLL) is back, as the top four teams from last season face-off in the 2024 Championship Series at The St. James in Springfield, VA. That includes the 2023 runner-up (and newly named) Philly Waterdogs — our hometown! — led by their star veteran, and Team Gladiator Athlete, Kieran McArdle.
Last seen helping Team USA win a gold medal at the 2023 World Lacrosse Championship, McArdle looks to add to his impressive pro career, as the former Rookie of the Year and three-time All-Star ranks ninth all-time in points and won a title with the Waterdogs in 2022.
The Championship Series features updated rules from previous seasons, with the PLL adopting the new 6-on-6 format that the IOC announced as lacrosse returns to the Olympics in 2028. Also known as “sixes,” all runners move as midfielders using short-sticks across the full 70 x 36-meter field.
For the Series, McArdle’s usual High Performance Lite custom mouthguard features new elements of the Philly Waterdogs — more to come on that! — including a purple and black color scheme and paw print logo. The guard also includes McArdle’s usual number six.
