Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis Is Going Down The Shore For A Title Unification Bout

When you’re from Philadelphia, heading to the beach — typically one located in New Jersey — is known as “going down the shore.”
Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, who is from Philly — our hometown! — is going down the shore, as he attempts to claim the crown on April 12 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) will make the third title defense of his IBF welterweight belt against Lithuania’s Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs), the undefeated WBA champion. The top two ranked welterweights will vie for the unified IBF, WBA and Ring Magazine world championship as the main event on the Matchroom Boxing card.
“This is the fight I’ve been waiting for,” Ennis said in a media statement. “It’s time to shine, be great and collect those belts.”
‘Boots,’ who has been wearing Gladiator custom mouthguards since 2018, will honor his late Grandma Sallie who passed in December of 2024 with two special designs of his Pro style Gladiator — one a bi-color Carolina blue and neon green and the other a pink guard, both featuring “RIP Grandma Sallie” and his JBE logo.
