Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis Is Ready To Defend His Title Against Karen Chukhadzhian
Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis is ready for redemption. And once again he’s doing it in his — and our — hometown!
The current IBF welterweight champion, Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) is returning to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for a rematch and mandatory title defense against Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs). The two first met in January 2023, where Boots claimed his title via unanimous 12-round decision, but his performance in that bout was not up to his own personal standards.
This is Ennis’ second consecutive fight at the Wells Fargo Center — home to the Philadelphia Flyers and Sixers — after he defeated David Avanesyan by TKO in the fifth round, back in July.
“I’m ready to make a statement. It’ll be another knockout coming. The card is stacked. A second homecoming, and this one is going to be even better,” said Ennis in media reports.
For his second homecoming and shot at redemption against Chukhadzhian, Boots will wear a special design of his Pro style Gladiator mouthguard to commemorate the memory of his late Grandpa Joe, who recently passed.
