No Luck Needed This St. Patrick’s Day: 3 Tips For Making The Best Impression
Congrats, you just ordered your good luck charm – a Gladiator, the most comfortable and protective custom mouthguard available. A perfect gift to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day for any athlete!
The next step to completing your game face is to make your impression. This guarantees that your custom mouthguard matches your individual mouth structure. It’s a very important process, but there’s no need to stress about it.
Here are three helpful tips to make your impression — rest assured; it is a simple process that only takes as long as it does to brush your teeth.
Move Quickly
If you want to catch the leprechaun and his pot o’ gold, you’ve got to move quickly.
Taking your impression is no different. Once you begin mixing the two materials together, you have approximately one minute to complete the impression process.
The material hardens quickly, so don’t waste too much time mixing, but make sure it is mixed thoroughly into one color. The warmer the material, the faster it hardens. Instead of rolling it in your palms, use your fingertips to knead the materials together. This keeps the material cooler and slightly slows down the time it takes to set.
Raise It Up
St. Patrick’s Day is a perfect occasion to raise a glass. Taking your impression is very similar.
Your jaw works on a hinge, so simply biting into the impression material won’t create a perfect impression, and in fact will produce drag marks.
To get a clean and perfect imprint, it’s extremely important that you do not bite into the material. Instead, push up (raise) the tray and material up on to your upper teeth and gum area in one straight motion. Then push deep…
Go Deep
Leprechaun and four-leaf clovers may require a deep leap of faith. But going deep is a good thing!
When taking your impression, do not be afraid to push as deep as you can. It is okay to hit the bottom of the tray. In fact, it’s better to hit the bottom of the tray with your upper teeth than to not be deep enough into the material.
This helps to properly capture the full structure of your teeth and as much of your upper gum area as possible.
Making the perfect impression for your Gladiator custom mouthguard doesn’t require leprechauns or four-leaf clovers. Learn more helpful tips at the link below.
