Details: LeBron James, the superstar guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, is a 14-time NBA All-Star and a four-time winner of the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award. The former high school phenomenon from Akron, Ohio, famously won back-to-back NBA championships with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, and was named Finals MVP both years. He has been to the finals each of the last eight years — with both the Heat and the Cavs — and has also won three NBA All-Star game MVP awards and two gold medals as a member of the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team.
LeBron joined Team Gladiator in the summer of 2010, when athletic trainer Mike Mancias was looking for a suitable mouthguard for the NBA’s biggest star. A habitual mouthguard wearer since his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, LeBron understands the importance of the proper protection provided by a custom mouthguard.
Through the partnership, Gladiator developed the High Performance Gladiator specifically for James, in order to offer him the most protective and comfortable option available. The High Performance took Gladiator’s unique design to the next level, and after seeing LeBron’s love for the newly created style, started offering it to the general public.
Gladiator has since produced various standout mouthguards for LeBron, including his famous 3D Fangs, which he wore for his Halloween debut with the Heat; the XVI that was worn during the 2012 Playoffs, when he won his first title; and various All-Star designs, most recently for the 2016 All-Star Game.
